Marinas26 Conference

d’Albora will be well represented at this year’s Marinas26 Conference, with team members attending from across the network to stay connected with industry developments and share knowledge.

Managing Director Julien Pouteau will present a session titled Lessons Learned from Redeveloping Ageing Marina Assets, drawing on insights from two key projects, Pacific Point Marina & Boatyard and Rushcutters Bay Marina.

As marina infrastructure across Australia continues to evolve, the focus is shifting towards long-term performance, changing vessel requirements and rising customer expectations. These projects highlight the importance of early planning, clear financial strategy and designing marinas that can adapt to future demand.

At Pacific Point, the redevelopment has focused on expanding capability and scale to meet strong growth in the region. In contrast, Rushcutters Bay presents the challenge of working within a constrained urban footprint, requiring a more refined approach to improving service and overall experience.

A consistent takeaway across both projects is the importance of balancing redevelopment with ongoing operations. Careful staging, clear communication and strong stakeholder management are critical to maintaining confidence throughout the process.

Looking ahead, future proofing remains central. Modern marina design is increasingly focused on flexibility, durability and long-term asset performance, ensuring facilities continue to meet the needs of members well into the future.

Participation in Marinas26 provides an opportunity for d’Albora to both contribute to and learn from the broader industry, bringing practical insights back into the network to continually improve the experience for members across all locations.
